Design Approach
To highlight the unique features of the estate, we incorporated a combination of in-ground well lights, uplights, downlights, and strategically placed path lights. In total, the project utilized over 100 fixtures, carefully positioned to balance elegance, functionality, and safety.
One of the standout design choices was eliminating path lights in the front yard and driveway area. Instead, we relied on downlighting and uplighting mature trees to create a natural moonlighting effect across the 150-meter driveway and walking paths. This design not only enhanced beauty but also avoided common issues with path lights—such as glare, cobwebs, dirt buildup, and fixtures being knocked over in high-traffic areas. The result was a clean, glare-free design that remained fully Dark Sky compliant while immersing guests in the effect of light rather than the sight of fixtures.

Security & Peace of Mind
Before reaching out to Borealis, the homeowners had experienced a break-in on their property. With little exterior lighting, the expansive and dark estate created opportunities for intruders. After installing our professionally designed lighting system, the family immediately felt safer and more at ease. Since the installation, they have not had a single security issue.
